Slowly Forward

I will write more about this later. I wanted to post this story before I forget though. The child involved is my sister Holli's first child.

Gotta Love Naps

I love Luken's nap time. Sometimes I feel guilty about how much I like it. Today during first nap, I worked on my business. And I packaged up a box to send to Japan (that took a LONG time to do). And I got myself ready for the day. Yay!

Luken (sort of) took a second nap today as well. He usually just takes one nap now. I tried for a second nap because Kara and I had hopes of attending the Lady Griz game.

We did go to the Lady Griz game. It was so much fun! The Lady Griz won! Luken was quasi fussy throughout the game. When he wasn't fussing though, he was having fun with the band and chasing his ball.

Anyway . . . I'm trying hard to talk my head out of a headache. I don't think it's working. Going to bed.

Really Good Day

I had such a great day today. I got up and took Luken on a hike. The wind was harsh and he was NOT fond of it. It was a short hike but it was such a beautiful bright day.

I saw an eagle! Beautiful Bald Eagle.

I watched the Griz trounce the Bobcats. Good fun!

I watched part of a NASCAR race.

I played with Luken and helped him practice walking.

I drove down to Hamilton and played fiddle with the guys (and gals) at the meadery. Such a great time! Kara stayed home with Luken so I could have an evening out. It was so good for me.

Now I'm cold, tired, and hungry. I'm glad to be home and looking forward to tomorrow.

Go Griz!

Today is the Rivalry game. Montana Grizzlies against Montana State Bobcats.

I went on a hike today. Went to Blue Mountain. Luken cried and fussed the ENTIRE time. The wind was brutal. He was warm, just fussing. I only made it an hour.

Ok, now settling in to watch the Brawl of the Wild. Go Griz!

Some Stuff

Stuff - the catch-all word for whatever the user (of the word) wants. Nice.

Fire (EMS) training last night was a blast! I learned to take a blood pressure. Then we "practiced" being geriatric. After that, we ran on a simulated call to a geriatric patient. We found her on her toilet saying that she hurt. Well, it turned out that our patient had a prolapsed rectum. Not funny at all. Nope. But in the simulation, it was hilarious! The patient had a rubber thing of guts strapped on to her butt. The whole thing was priceless. I guess you'da had to have been there to enjoy the full effect.

Tonight on the news, there was a story about a bachelor party that ended up in jail for a string of drunken acts of testosterone goaded stupidity. The judge that they saw today is the same judge that was scheduled to preside over their wedding next month. She informed the groom that if there was a wedding, it would indeed be a "dry" wedding. Totally cracked me up.

It's been 3 or so weeks since I weaned Luken. In that time, I've only had one migraine. ONE! And the daily nagging headache that plagued me for 2 years has disappeared. Awesome! I feel like a whole new woman! LOVE it!

I have cabin fever. No, I'm not stuck inside. I just want to GO somewhere. I want to take Luken to Lolo Hot Springs (with Kara). I want to go to Silver Mountain Resort in Idaho. They have a big indoor waterpark and lodging on site. Sounds fun! I want to go to Vancouver, BC. I want to go somewhere - anywhere!.

Ok, that's enough "stuff" for now. I'm sure I'll think of more later.

I Need New Cheese

My cheese is old and stale. I need new cheese. What? Cheese? Yup. Cheese.

I need to make my business work so Kara no longer has to work at a job she hates. I need to make my business work so I can buy health insurance for my family. I need to make my business work so I can show other people that it really DOES work.

So, think about who I can talk to. Who do I know that might be interested in building a successful business? Who do I know that needs extra income? Who do I know that is driven and motivated?

Lara is. Yes, you, Lara. Jennifer is. Kathy and Tom are. Dave is.

Exciting Saturday Night!

I'm sitting in my bed next to my sleeping wife. I have a stuffed up nose and I want to eat something crunchy and salty. I'm bored! I want to go do something. Anything. Maybe my pager will go off.

A Visit From Jerry, Julie and Jonkle

I am a member of an online community of women who were all pregnant at the same time and who were all due in July of 2008. Our group has mascots. The are Jerry the Firefly, Julie, a butterfly, and Jonkle, a moose. The Bugs, as we call them, travel all around the world having adventures. Here is Luken's account of part of their visit to Montana.

We got a box in the mail. It was addressed to Luken. Oh, what's in there? A cup!

100_1119 by you.
Can I drink out of it?

100_1120 by you.
Nope.

100_1124 by you.
What is this? It's Jerry and Julie!

100_1125 by you.
Hi!

100_1121 by you.
I think I like them.

100_1122 by you.
They brought a friend. He is a Moose named Jonkle. I think I'll take a nibble.

100_1123 by you.
They don't taste very good.

100_1126 by you.
Jerry sat on my shoulder. Maybe he was trying to tell me a secret.

100_1137 by you.
Bath time! Jerry and Julie got a bath in the sink while I got a bath in the tub.

Tiny Tales at the library. We listened to stories and sang songs.

This is my mom and me with our new friends. We're going for a hike up Larry Creek. Mom takes me out of the pack so I can practice walking.

100_1176 by you.
Jerry, Julie and Jonkle can practice walking too.

100_1230 by you.
Mommy took us to a basket ball game. We thought it was lots of fun.

100_1233 by you.
We especially liked the marching band.

100_1234 by you.
I help Mommy with the laundry. Jerry, Julie and Jonkle were helping too but you can't see them because they're lost in the clean towels.

100_1252 by you.
We went to visit Paul. He's our pharmacist. I really like Paul. He teaches me fun things like "high 5" and "knucks".

100_1253 by you.
After I went to bed one night, Mommy took our company to the fire hall. I like to go to the fire hall too but I was too tired to come along this time. The people there are nice to me. Here Jerry, Julie and Jonkle are hanging out on the pump panel of one of the pumper trucks.

100_1254 by you.
They looked at a fire extinguisher.

100_1255 by you.
The fire extinguisher was strapped to the back of a big truck.

100_1256 by you.
Can you find them?

They were hiding in the dump spout of the water tender.

100_1258 by you.
Here, they are checking out one of the ladders on the truck.

100_1259 by you.
They were excited to climb into the truck and peek out the front window.

100_1262 by you.
Showing off.

Perched on a hose reel.

100_1264 by you.
Wow, this hose is kinda dirty!

100_1265 by you.
Taking a rest on Mommy's helmets.

Jerry and Julie are packing now to continue on to the next place. It sure was fun having them for a visit! Travel safe, friends.
