Solstice

Today is the shortest day of the year. Starting tomorrow, the light will begin trickling back into our lives. Today, as I was walking, I looked at the sky. The sun was poking face through fog and gray, gradually melting the clouds. It was warm, near 60 degrees. It felt good to walk. The mountains are still snow covered, as they should be this time of year. The valley floor though, is mostly slush covered. A bit tenuous for walking with a stroller. We are getting weather. All day clouds pushed against the mountains to the west of here. Toward evening, they started spilling over the mountains down toward the valley. Now, there is rain. Rain and peace.

Be well.
